Hello. I wonder why additional storage space on the Deluxe package is proportionately so much more expensive than the basic 100Gb, please? Adding 30Gb of space more than doubles the total price. Many thanks.

@brian49,

We would suggest to upgrade the Email Plan first.

Upgrading or Downgrading Your Email Account Plan

Once updated if additional storage needs be adjusted you may do so:

Thanks for responding. I’m afraid I don’t follow. I don’t have an Email Plan, and I have no need of one. Could you please clarify?

@brian49,

I apologize for misunderstanding, I see this was for the Online File Folder not the Email. I believe the following is what you are interested in:

Sorry, we don’t seem to be getting very far.

(1) The page you’ve pointed me to talks about an “Upgrade/Downgrade Online Storage Account” hyperlink, but I can’t see that hyperlink anywhere. There is only a link back to the page for buying a new plan.

(2) In any case, I wasn’t asking about how to upgrade, but about the price of doing so – please see my original post. At the quoted prices, it simply isn’t worth upgrading.

@brian49. Hi Brian I have already been through this one with GD on a previous thread. What you are saying is correct about the cost being disproportionate. A lot of the storage providers seem to take that stand though which is not logical to the likes of you and me. I assume overall marketting has established there is logic. The only options are really to pay up or start a second account at the lower limit.

The information @jagger provided is accurate. It some cases, it may be less expensive to purchase two separate plans. However, you will have to log into the two different plans separately. They cannot be combined.

@brian49 – I agree that is odd. Usually you would get a discount for buying more volume, instead of paying more per unit. 1 hot dog $1, 2 hot dogs $3? I would just buy 1 hot dog twice.

Thanks for the replies. It remains a mystery why GoDaddy offers additional space at such unattractive prices.

However, this prompts another question, please. If I opened a second account, would GoDaddy be able and willing to move some of the files from my first account into it? Uploading is rather laborious!
