Can I give a 3rd party access to upload documents to my online file folder account through a secure connection?

@Cody Hayes,
Anyone can connect securely to Online File Folder by accessing https://onlinefilefolder.com, and then logging in normally. You will need to give them your login credentials in order for them to access your account. Once they have that, they can login securely.

Hi Clint:
I need to give a person access to one specific file only. not access to my online file folder account.
Similar to the way I can share a “public link” with someone, I would also like them to have an option to upload within a specific folder (securely).
Is this more clear?

Hey Cody,
Thanks for clarifying. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to give someone else access to a specific folder at this time. However, we do have some features that are in the works that I think you will benefit from. Stay tuned for that.
Now, the most secure way to share a file with someone, is to encrypt it before sending it. This setups a password that is needed before the recipient can access the file. Not sure if that works for you, but that’s about all Online File Folder offers at this time.
Keep in mind, we do welcome your suggestions on how we can improve this product. If you believe there are features that are needed, send in an email to Suggestions@GoDaddy.com.

We have a client base that need to be able click an upload link on our website and gain access to their own secure folder to send large files, without other clients being able to view them. This technology has been available for years, if Godaddy can’t handle it we’ll have to move to someone who can.

Being able to grant someone a password protected subdirectory to allow uploads to only a small area is a critical need. Having only one password for the entire ftp area is too limiting. Using email to upload is only good for smaller files.
An ftp site that is only one way, is a significant deficiency.

I host a technological club (robotics) and members often have to send cad drawings source code, and even large collections pictures or videos to each other as part of our regular activities.
I am using the online folder but I am concerned that a malicious member may decide it is an easy conduit for their own file transfers. The only way I can prevent this now is to change the password with every upload. After a member sends a file, I change the password and give it out again when another upload is needed.
I like the idea of a tool similar to the PUBLIC LINK where a specific sub folder can be created and the connection credentials for that folder are mailed to a person. Once those credentials expire, they can no longer access the folder.
That way I can control what is uploaded and if I do have a file stored in the main folder, the ‘contributor’ will not see it.
This would have been really handy when submissions for a friendly contest were being sent in.
I didn’t want anyone to see anyone else’s submissions until they were all uploaded. It required a lot of email time to collect unzip and reassemble the files by hand.
