Workspace Desktop blocks port 80
grizzli said 1 year ago:
Apparently Workspace Desktop is not compatible with any type of web server or service that uses port 80. Why? Port 80 is commonly used by a wide variety of users to run web based applications on a local machine, a LAN or on the Internet. Why block port 80? How about using some other port. There are only a gazzilion other choices.

The Workspace Desktop Tools does connect on port 80, but it does not specifically block it. Our Workspace Desktop Tools connects on port 80 as that is the most accessible port on home computers. While Workspace Desktop Tools is connecting, other services may not be able to connect on the same port. Our Workspace Desktop Tools are not designed to be used in a server environment. You may want to configure your web service to use an alternate port.

@grizzli,
You may want to contact your ISP if you’re having issues such as this. Many of them have a habit of filtering Port 80. I have run into that issue myself personally, and it is extremely frustrating.
Unfortunately, without knowing exactly what issue you’re having, we can’t be of much more assistance. If you could fill us in a bit more, we might be better able to help you get where it is you’re trying to go.
