Confused about how to block the ability to download photos. I have checked the do not allow download box, but on my mac I just double click and the photo is downloaded. How do I really Block downloads, I dont want to have to watermark my work.

Hi Csean
I tried double clicking a photo from Thumbnail, Slideshow and Filmstrip view on Mac-Safari(5.0.3) could not replicate the issue. Could you please let us know how and where you are trying to double click the photo.
Thanks

Thanks, I think I figured out one piece. I was logged in at the time so I think it let me download them. However, just now I was not logged in and I can simply drag an image off the slideshow to my desktop.

CSean, that is correct. When you have logged in (basically as admin) you can download/right-click save as the images, but visitor can’t. (assuming you have checked ‘do not allow download box’). I am glad, you got figured out. Let us know if you are experiencing any other issues. We are always listening and eager to help you.
Thanks

Thanks, but part 2 of my prior post stated I can drag any image to my desktop, effectively downloading the image; even though the download option is not available. I guess I better watermark my images……

@Csean,
If you are still encountering issues with images being downloaded while you are not logged in as the admin for your Photo Album pages, I would advise contacting our Live Support so we can investigate into this matter in your account further.
Our Live Support Department is available 24/7 and can be reached at:

im having the same issue.i have a password protected page for users to view pics from my gallery.you log in,go to said page and are still able to download the images :/

@egem_mag – There is truly no way to block all ways someone could download an image from your site. Technically every user does download the image just when they access the page, they could then go in and move it from the temporary file.
It is unfortunate, but that is how it is no matter how you host your images.
This option in your account blocks the most common method of ‘stealing’ images. And that is simply the double or right-click method.

@egem_mag,
@Nate D is correct.
The method explained here should prevent images in your album from being downloaded through the double or right-click methods. Of course, this also assumes you have checked the “do not allow download box” as pointed out by @AjayG in an earlier post.
Again; if this is the method the users are downloading images from your album even after checking the options, I would urge contacting our Live Support so we can investigate further.
