I am truly disappointed that there isn’t a sharing feature for Facebook and Twitter for individual posts as they are the leaders of social media. This is enough to make me want to switch to Wordpress. I read 3 months ago that GoDaddy have something in the works, can we get an updated status?

@BikeRider

After speaking with our development team, it doesn’t appear that this feature isn’t being discussed for implementation at this time. However, our plans for future implementation are always changing to meet the needs of our customers, and so it is possible that this will be part of our ‘To Do’ list for the future.

However, I did some research on this and found some information which may be helpful to you. Currently, there is a way to add a ‘post to’ link for both Twitter and Facebook on your articles using HTML/Javascript snippets. Here are the two examples which I found to be most like the feature you were requesting:

How to Add the “Post to Facebook” Button to Your Website – http://www.ehow.com/how_4504743_add-post-facebook-button-website.html

TweetMeme Button – http://help.tweetmeme.com/2009/04/06/tweetmeme-button/

Hope this information helps!

i found an answer that’s ALMOST better, but it didnt work. i found the answer here: http://www.shoutmeloud.com/how-to-automatically-publish-your-latest-post-on-facebook-fan-page.html

you can click on your facebook page Notes application and i clicked on the “Edit import settings” but they keep changing the names and organization of these little links. So look for something in notes about importing.

And it gave me a place to paste my blog’s rss, which i did: http://blog.themontgomeryteaparty.org/rss2.aspx

but sadly facebook gave me an error message: “Import Failed. We couldn’t find a feed using the URL you provided.”

not very descriptive, huh?

update: i wound up using rss graffiti http://apps.facebook.com/rssgraffiti/ and that seemed to work. This is a facebook app you add to your facebook page. Note it does nothing when you first set it up. And i had to set the cut-off date/time filter to the date of my earliest blog post. then i had to wait for the first periodic update and it pulled in my first 4 blog posts (it’s a brand new blog)

@montgomery tea

Thanks for sharing this information with our users. Hopefully we can implement some feature of this kind in the future, but for now, that’s a good solution.

So there is no way to add a share link to FB or Twitter from your website? Can’t add an option to QSC store preferences for either of those?

Thanks

We don’t currently have an option through Quick Shopping Cart to share to Facebook or Twitter. However, we are continuously looking for ways to improve our products and services to better meet the needs of our customers. I’ll be sure this is passed along appropriately for review.

Thanks!

Wow, I just decided to add Twitter links to posts on both of the blogs I have at godaddy and was shocked to learn that I cannot do this. If anyone has a workaround or hack to easily allow this, please let me know. Thanks.

Actually, I discovered you can easily add the following at the end of each of your posts to add a Tweet button for people to share the page. Unfortunately, it only seems to work if you’re looking at a post on the blog main page. If you click on the post to go to the post page, then the Tweet share dialog appears but it won’t let you click Tweet.

More info: it DOES work from the individual post pages as long as the post title isn’t too long, about 80 characters or so. Make sure you copy the referenced html string into the HTML view of your post, not the DESIGN view.

I was told in a different thread that I’d be seeing this feature soon.

Is this still happening? Please?

@Sarah Hornik,

I checked with the developers, and this functionality is definitely being worked on, however we don’t have a release date at this time. Hopefully it will be soon, we appreciate your patience!

I’m looking for a way to link my posts from my Facebook Fan page to my website or Quick Blogcast. Currently I have it linked where when I post on my fan page, it also posts to Twitter and LinkedIn. How can I link it to my website or blog? Can anyone help me out?

@aysha63

You would need to post the URL for the article on your pages. There is not an option to post directly to your site or blog. You make look at the widgets that are offered from Facebook that you can add to the site or blog.
