Frustrated with template

I upgraded by blog account from a free account to a paid one and changed the template. I didn’t customize anything–I just picked one of the pre-made designs. The page doesn’t look like the template. Only about half of the graphics will load and the sidebar has dropped to the extreme bottom of the page. It’s been 24 hours and still the page won’t completely load. I’ve put in a trouble ticket–still no change.

I’m having a similar prob where a new template won’t load correctly and page doesn’t look like template. It’s a shame there isn’t more help here. I’m disappointed they don’t provide better directions and a troubleshooting section. If you do get help with your trouble ticket, would be great if you posted what they said here. Thanks!

Hi – I will try to get some help. Can you give me the name of the template you are using?

Hi Aaron, I’m trying to change my template to “Casting Call”. I think the name of the template I orginally used on my blog was “Dark Twilight”.

I do not see anything unusual when I test these templates. Can you send me the url of the blog, so I can see the issue?

This thread doesn’t seem to want to publish my url, so I’ll try again. blog.terrihiggins.com
When I view the preview window in the designer section everything looks as it should.

The 1st time I emptied my cache nothing changed but I went back and emptied for 2nd time and the changes took place. Thanks for taking time out to help, but it occurred to me I was probably going to be told to do that. ![]()

Hi
I have the same problem, the page doesn’t look like the template. I tryed to delete the cache but don’t work.
My website’s powered by Joomla!
Any suggestions from the community?
Yhanks

Hi, you know I changed my template this morning again and once again I’m having the same exact problem I had before. I tried the cache empty multiple times with no results. The only thing I know it could be, is that there is a long lag before template changes actually take place. I can’t remember how long it was before the changes took place on my 1st template change but I’m sure it was many hours.
I read an article here about the templates and it encourages template changes, saying change it and change it often, but it’s definitely not working out for me. It seems like it’s working very much how wordpress does if you change an avatar image and that takes about 12-24 hrs to occur. I wonder though if anyone else can get their blog template to change here immediately after making the change?

@AntonioC,
This is definitely a separate issue. It looks like the database is not linking up with your Joomla website, or something is off. I would suggest making sure that you have the proper connection strings:
http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/3323
Please let us know the results of that, and if you continue having issues, feel free to get in contact with our Support Team so they can investigate your account. Thanks!

@painterlymuse,
I’ve seen issues with our Quick Blogcast similar to yours. I don’t think the template has changed, it just looks as if something is stuck on our end. Contact our Support Team so they can investigate this issue and get it fixed for you (480-505-8877 or Support@GoDaddy.com). Thanks!
@antonioc,
If your using Joomla, the issue is not related. Can you post the URL to your page and we can all take a look at it and see if we can assist you?
