I am relatively new to blogging.

I switched to GoDaddy’s Quick Blogcast. Many of my follower’s have already suscribed to my new blog.

I want to publish several posts from my old blog, but without sending an email to notifying all my suscribers that I have made a new post. I don’t want to blow up their email boxes AND this would be old content anyway.

How can I do this?

Also, if I edit a post on the blog, will everyone get an email notifying them that a change was made? Is there anyway to prevent that when the edit is something simple like a typo?

Any posts that you edit will not send emails to your subscribers. As for the posts from your other blog, your subscribers will be notified as the posts will be considered new when you add them to the QBC account. I am reviewing the Import feature with our Development Team on whether or not it sends the email. I will update the thread when more information is available.

Excellent. Thank you for the information about editing posts. That’s very helpful.

Yes, please let me know about the Import feature. That seems like it could be very helpful.

Thanks again.

OK. Great. I have never used any of those products. What is I have is super simple. I have ~40 posts I’d like to put up on my blog.

They have no pictures, no video, and no media of any kind. They are simply made up of text.

Could you recommend an input template I could use? I would be using the following fields:

Author
Subject
Date of Post
Time of Post
Body (all text)

Is it possible to maybe use a .csv? Do you have an exmple template?

Thanks again.

Well… I figured out a template to use and import my posts on my own. They are up on my blog now.

However, I decided to edit on a little bit. When I republished, an email went out to my entire distribution list! It was from 2011!!

Can you please explain how I can edit / revise posts without an email going out to everyone?

Thanks.

@dan_warlock

It sounds like you imported posts and published them as new. I don’t know if that was unavoidable as you were not using one of the specified blogs in my last post.

As for editing them, no emails will be sent unless you are planning to remove them and re-import them.
