Blogging heavily too, quite proud that my visitors are rising and yes: I have spam issues as well.

You really want a Deluxe account at the very least; my blogs are open, several “highly rated” articles are heavily under attack (read: come back after a few days and find 1 comment sub page full of spam) and most of it gets exterminated :-)

Best part is that you can even apply your own rules to the blocker too. Some idiot trying to promote samsung phones whereas your blog is all about football (so “samsung” would never be mentioned in your comment section) ? Simple: block the word “samsung” (a shame though, they make pretty cool phones IMO :-) ).

Personal experience: Some idiots trying to promote their website though your blog? Simple: block their URL using the filter in its entirely.

It isn’t free, true, but the extra’s are very welcome (I love the tagcloud for example).

Note.. disclaimer: I am biased here. Plain and simple, I’ve been starting my blogging experiences using GD and therefor have no experience with other services. But having said that; I really enjoy using Deluxe and the way it blocks my annoyances.
