Is there any way to add a coupon code that doesn’t subtract an amount? I want to give a coupon code to one of my partners to give to their customers. If they purchase my service, they receive a free gift. I’ve added a coupon for a penny as a work around right now but I’d really rather have it for nothing.

You wouldn’t be able to add a coupon that does not subtract an amount. You would be able to create a coupon that discounts the additional item that you want to provide and make it free with the purchase.

That wouldn’t help me since the customer would have to select the product in order for the coupon to work. I’m just trying to track which customer’s come from a particular vendor because those customers are supposed to get a free gift. Is there any chance that shopping cart will start offering a few user-defined fields in the check-out process? I already use the “special instructions” field for something else. One or two more would make this product so much better.

I think an idea similar to this has been passed up to our developers before. But I will go ahead and forward your own inquiries to be taken into consideration for our future updates.
I have not heard any news about a system like this coming up, but if any additional details make it this way we will be sure to follow up.
