Freight shipping

I set up an account with freightshipping.com as per GoDaddy’s suggestion. When I set up my products in the product editor… and I have them listed as freight shipping… they do not automatically calculate freight charges, nor do they send an automatic email to the warehouse, as they do with non-freight items. Did I do something wrong in the shipping set-up?

I’d recommend you double check the setup for the Freight shipping to be sure:
Offering Freight Shipping Options for Your Quick Shopping Cart Customers
If that’s all setup properly, then contact our Support Team. We’ll need to access your account at that point and check if there’s anything going on there.

OK… so I looked into my FreightCenter.com setup… and just made one little change to the shipping from location (address of the warehouse where the items are shipped from)… and then I clicked OK and published my site. I went it as a customer and tried to put in an order for one of the freight items… It worked and calculated 5 freight shipping options.
My only remaining concern is that in my Product Editor, for all my freight items… the section that usually displays the Warehouse information, is not there (under the Manufacturer info). So, to me that means that the warehouse will not be getting an automatic email placing my order, as it does for all my non-freight items. Is this correct? How will this work? Does this mean that I have to phone in or manually email my order into the warehouse for all the freight items that are ordered?

For your freight items, you will want to find the order in the Quick Shopping Cart order administrator. In the Shipping Information section, enter your requested pick-up date. Click ‘Book Shipment’ to have FreightCenter.com book the shipment. FreightCenter.com sends back a booking ID so that you can track the shipment in your FreightCenter.com account.
