QSC Blank Pages
ADogAndTwoCats said 2 years, 10 months ago:
Can anyone from goDaddy tell us if you’re making any progress on giving QSC customers a few blank pages to use? It’s critical for my business to have a links page, but the only way I can do that now is to give up either the About Us or Contact Us page.
Thank you.

@Paws N Claws,
The best way to add “additional” pages to your Quick Shopping Cart store is to team it up with WebSite Tonight. You can integrate the two and add links into your Quick Shopping Cart navigation that point to pages that you build with WebSite Tonight (and vise-versa). For more information on WebSite Tonight and integrating it with Quick Shopping Cart, see the following:

The problem with that is you must have your domain point to the WT site, then use a link from there to go to your QSC site. I don’t want people to have to ‘click’ to get to the retail site. If we could do it the other way around, point to the QSC site then link to go to WT, I’d like that.

And another comment about that… I’m only asking for you to add a couple of blank pages to QSC that we could use for any purpose that would fit our needs. That would be much simpler than having to design a whole other WT site just to have a page for links, etc…

I would like to second the request for a small number of user defined pages.
I need the same functionality and flexibility as the “About Us” page, I just could really use a couple more of them.
It’s unclear to me if the WebSite Tonight integration would fulfill this role. I want the page to go into the main frame of the QSC.
I tried to set up a Custom page type navigation and set the URL to a page on a different website I own. I could only get it to launch in a new window, not the frame within my QSC. Is this how WebSite Tonight links would work?

I’ll 3rd the motion for at least a couple blank QSC pages. I offer a military/law enforcement discount for my products and the only way for me to use a single site is to use my About Us page as well. I don’t care if you can use WebSite Tonight to make up for the pages that QSC doesn’t include. For the amount that we pay for services it is not unreasonable to ask for something as simple as a couple blank programmable pages.
I think if enough people made a complaint about it there’s a chance it could eventually become a reality.

Okay, I’m at a crossing point here, and about willing to pay for the additional ‘Site’ to get those custom pages.
But is Paws N Claws right that adding the Site will make your domain name default to the Site instead of the Store?
That feels like a deal breaker… I want my store to be the first thing hit when a customer types in my web address.

I have to admit that I also really wish there were at least a couple of “blank” pages included with QSC.
I’d love to have an FAQ page integrated within my store, but I really don’t want to “add on” a page via Website Tonight. Keeping my store front is a lot of work…and having to maintain (in essence) TWO set of pages for a single store seems a bit much.

I have linked my QSC to my Website Tonight site and it works well, but I would like to chime in and say that Go Daddy would do us a great favor by giving us even two extra pages on the QSC sites. I hate saying I would be willing to pay for the added pages, but the benefit surely would justify the cost. If I had the two extra pages, I would seperate my QSC and my Website Tonight sites in an instant.

I to would love it if they gave us even just 1 more page. I would be willing to pay for it as well.

What are your comments about this goDaddy? It seems like there are plenty of customers that are asking you to add some blank pages to justify the change. Is goDaddy going to be responsive to our requests?
Thank you.

We too could use a couple blank set em as you need em pages. We are wanting to and I did find a way to link it to an outside page, but that is not a viable solution as it just adds to cost. So for now, we are going to add what we need to our terms and conditions page, and set up a navigation link that also links to that and we have to be sure it is at the top so customers realize why they have been linked there. Will work, but not as well as a blank fully customizable page.

A blank, customizable page is a great idea!
Would also like to see a customer ‘feedback’ section.
Thank you.

What everyone is really missing is that splitting between QSC and WST waters down the precious page ranking by splitting your content over 2 separate domains. NOT at all web business friendly!
