In Massachusetts, Clothing items are taxed at 6.25% over $175.00 in value per item. How do I set this up in Quick Shopping Cart for items over $175.00?

@dennisg

I would configure your Quick Shopping Cart to use the State-based tax. Check out this article for more information:

Configuring Tax Options in Quick Shopping Cart

Hope this helps!

Thanks Baillee … have done this but for clothing it’s no tax for the first $175.00 and then 6.25% so how does the system know not to charge 6.25% for the first $175.00?

@dennisg

It should just be in the algorithm for the state tax. Is it not working properly? If your store is published, and you don’t mind doing so, please post your domain name and we would be happy to take a look for you.

I have Published. Can you please Help with looking at the Sales Tax for MA (Massachusetts) for Clothing Items which states 6.25% Tax AFTER the first $175.00 per Item. That is, the first $175.00 is Tax Fee. The present Quick Shopping Cart does not calculate this properly, charging a flat 6.25% on the purchase price of the entire value of the item.

Can you please include your domain name so that we can take a look into this with you?

The domain name is: http://www.shopnarapaz.com

It would seem a simple matter of providing code that modifies the price to be taxed as:
<Item Price> – $175 = <Price to be Taxed>
