sec_error_revoked_certificate
joe_turner said 1 year, 1 month ago:
Hello,
We have followed the instructions above for re-keying the certificate. We download it and the new certificate works for a day. Then the next day it stops working and we see the error message “sec_error_revoked_certificate” in firefox and an equivalent error message in other browser versions.
Why is this happening?

@joe_turner
Can you post the URL in question so we can take a look? Thanks!

NOTE: it works now, becuase I just re-keyed, re-downloaded and installed (approx 3 hours), but I suspect in about 24hrs from me installing this updated cert it will fail again.
Thanks

It is almost like it is revoking the WRONG certificate after the re-generation of the new one.
I have gone in and re-downloaded the cert the next day and compared it against the one installed…and it is the same…and the godaddy web interface says it is ‘current’.

It looks like the SSL is still up and running. It hasn’t been a full 24 hours, but it appears that you were able to get the issue squared away. Let us know if you have any further trouble!

Unfortunately, it is happening again.
I have not fixed it up, so that you can see what we mean.
Thanks

It looks like you fixed it again before I was able to take another look. I do not see any errors. If you get the same error again, please get in touch with our 24 hour support team so we can take a look at the issue while it is present. Thanks!

I find it hard to believe the issue is at our end…because it works for 24 hours…then it suddenly stops. The cert is definitely valid for another 2 years.
IF this issue is not being looked at (and/or) is not being taken seriously, then please refund us.
I’ve had to disable the use of certs for now as it is not practical for me to re-key and re-download and install of the certs.

Ok.
There is a chance I have resolved this.
I noticed that other people have had issues (perhaps not related to GoDaddy services itself), but they used serial # to match certificates up.
I noticed that the certificate loaded in was one serial # behind.
Now, I tried (several times) re-keying and reinstalling and EACH time it always showed a cert with a a serial # one cert behind! I was very careful to ensure I had the RIGHT cert before pasting it in. i.e. double clicking on it to get serial #, then opening it in textpad and copying/pasting.
So, What I decided to do was REMOVE the old cert from the p12 file, then save the wallet, then re-open the wallet and apply the latest cert against the req. This SEEMED to get past that issue.
So this _may_ be related to owm (Oracle Wallet Manager). I’ll update this post in the next few days as to the outcome.

Each of the times I had checked your site, I was unable to duplicate the issue. I had used multiple 3rd party tools that confirmed the SSL was functioning properly at the times I checked the site. I’m glad to hear that you may have found the solution to your problem. If you receive this error again, please get in touch with our 24 hour support team so our tech guys can review the issue while it is present. Thanks!
