Will not accept my CSR

I went in to IIS on Windows Server 2003 and requested a CSR to renew my certificate. It is telling me that my key length is wrong. What do I need to do when renewing to get this correct? IIS does not give me the option of setting a key length on a renewal.

If your previous certificate was of 1024 bit length, you would need to generate a new CSR of at least 2048 bit length. If you currently have an active site, and do not want to remove the existing certificate, there are instructions that will allow you to generate a new certificate request while the existing one on the same common name is still in place on your server.
