Database Error after Wordpress Install
skahtu said 2 years, 5 months ago:
Just installed wordpress using the automatic installer and I get the message below. Any ideas?
Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at ****.com. This could mean your host’s database server is down.
* Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
* Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
* Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

On further investigation it seems that the WP install did NOT install a MySQL database. Why, I wonder?

@skahtu
When you install an application through our Hosting Connection, it can take up to an hour to create a database. Has it been past an hour? Let us know!

Still nothing happening and it’s been several hours. What else might be the problem?

@skahtu
It should have been created by now. Can you provide us a URL to any error that you are receiving so we can take a look?
Thanks!
