Piping Emails to a Script

I have been trying to pipe email to a script but I keep getting the following error:

Child process of virtual_address_pipe transport returned 127 (could mean unable to exec or command does not exist) from command

I have this as my shebang
#!/usr/bin/php -q
followed by a simple script.

I have also changed the permissions of the script to 755.

Any ideas of what else I may be doing wrong?
