Contact support on virtual dedicated server questions however stated that I would only get my answers after I signed up for a service plan.

First Question: How many processor cores does my virtual dedicated server get. After signing up for the plan I guess I could check system properties or Task manager but why can’t I get answer before that?

You do not get assigned dedicated processors on a Virtual Dedicated Server. With a Virtual Dedicated Server, you receive a Virtual Machine on a server with a few other users, and the total processing power is distributed amongst the users of the physical server. If you would like to have dedicated processors, you might want to consider using a Dedicated Server as opposed to a Virtual Dedicated server.

Thank you for the post. Howerver, could you answer the question: How many “cores” are from the physical processor(s) are assigned to a given virtual dedicated server. In a virtualized environment you assign one or more cores to a given VM. I would like to know how many cores that is without first signing up. Perhaps if someone else on this forum sees this post and is using virtual dedicated servers from GoDaddy they can tell me.

The processing power depends on a large number of factors, ranging from the type of plan you choose to the particular server your Virtual Dedicated Server is assigned to. Even in a virtualized environment, server resources are still used by multiple users. If you are concerned about dedicated processing power, I still recommend that you look into our Dedicated Servers.
