Changing A-Record

Hi,
Maybe I’m totally ridiculously stupid, but I can’t figure out how to change the A-Record of my domain. I’ve searched this forum and the help section, to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well know I’m really confused. So is this article stating that I HAVE to host my domain at Godaddy or PAY for a premium service to change an A-record?
I host through a reseller and have numerous domains hosting through it and I just want to change my domain to point to my tumblr acct but I have to change the A-record.
I’m bothered that I’d have to buy into a premium thing at Godaddy just to do this!
Godaddy will do anything for a buck!

@aussiedee No, we do not charge you to update your domain’s DNS records, regardless of where you’re hosting your domain. Premium DNS is only recommended for those requiring advanced DNS functionality or if they have over 100 zone file records. I’d recommend using the article that @JasonP provided previously to make any DNS updates that you require. If you’re not using our nameserver, then you’d have to make DNS updates through your own hosting provider.
For more information on our Premium DNS services, you can review the following link, using the tabs to view the features included:

I’m trying to edit my A record but I am unable to access the DNS manager! I just had the domain transferred to my godaddy account from someone else. In the domain manager under DNS manager it says “not hosted here.” What do I do?

@leachface
That would indicate that the DNS for the domain is hosted by a third party. If you would like the ability to manage your own DNS, you will need to park the domain on our servers.

So I updated added 4 A records so that example.com redirects to http://www.example.com, Did it about 5 hours ago. GoDaddy says that such changes may take 48 hours to reflect but I want to know about how I can check the status to see if the changes have been made or not.
