Hello.

I have a domain registered with Godaddy which is currently pointed to Bluehost NS servers.

Now I wish to get a static IP from my ISP and point my domain to my home server using CNAME, A, MX or whatever I need to use.

What exactly do I need to do in order to unlink my domain from Bluehost and point it to my home server.

Thanks.

@marxo

If you would like to manage the domain’s DNS through your server, you’ll want to create custom nameservers that point to the static IP address:

Registering Your Own Nameservers/Hosts

Setting Nameservers for Your Domain Names

If you wish to manage the domain’s DNS through us, this article will show you how to update your domain’s A record to point to the static IP:

I don’t see the Zone File Editor because the name servers are pointing to Bluehost.
Which nameservers do I need to point to? If Godaddy’s, what is the address of those?

Thank you.

If you would like to manage the domain’s DNS through us, you’ll want to park the domain.
