I bought a website program uploaded it and it asks for 6 fields to be entered. I went to the page “MySQL Database Information” to get the required information. The fields are and I entered them as follows:

Base URL: http://www.mywebsite.com
Database Host: mydb.db.9276931.hostedresource.com
Port: 3306
Database Name: mydb
MySQL User Name: mydb
MySQL Password: ******

I have struggled with this for hours upon hours and every time I enter the information I get a “error establishing connection with database” error message. I was worried that something was wrong with the program so I went to a free hosting site and uploaded everything, created a database, and everything worked just fine. Where am I going wrong!!!????

It sounds as though you are using the correct information for your connection strings. You can find a few example strings which you can copy and paste to ensure you have coded your string properly:

I would advise that you contact our Support Team directly to have your database connectivity tested as I do not see any reported issues at this time.
