Database Error – Needing Help
gioangion said 3 years, 2 months ago:
Hey!
I just got an email from the support saying that my database have been suspended because of some bad behavior – GD sent me a report highlighting what they consider being a problem but it really means nothing to me since I have no idea on how to deal with that.
Considering that the site is a magazine (http://www.estonianfreepress.com ) and that I was discussing two editorial partnerships right now, to have it offline is killing me :/
Anyone willing to give me a hand???

Thanks Cory,
I am trying either there or at +480 624 25 00 since I got a missed call from there but it seems like it is impossible to connect – call drops immediately.

**Update**
I keep trying to call but I am still not able to get a connection since last night..and now it looks like I cannot even access the database via PhpMyAdmin since my user/pw are not accepted anymore.
I double checked them from the WP-Config.php file on the server so they have to be the right ones…
Can you please get back to me on this?
I am afraid I will start loosing visitors and rankings since it is already half a day that the you decided to suspend my database…
Cordially,,

gioangion,
If you are calling internationally you will need to dial the Country Code as well +1 480 505 8877. If this still does not work you can contact us via email as previously mentioned at support@godaddy.com.

Gioangion –
We have an endless task of keeping everyone’s databases running smoothly and quickly, all the time.
Unfortunately, there are some situations that arise where we have to take more proactive action and remove access to the database completely. When a user is identified as causing significant load and impacting other user’s performance, we’re left with little choice but to pull their access until a solution can be found. Once we pull a user’s access, our support departments immediately attempt to contact you via phone and email so we can resolve the issue quickly.
You will have to get in contact with our support department to re-enable access to your database. Either of the previously mentioned methods will work just fine. Once you’ve got access to the database again, you’ll have to work on whatever the issue was so the same things don’t happen again.
Many times, problems can manifest at the database level from seemingly innocent events. Common issues that I see all the time would be:
- Spam posts or comments. If your site has thousands or tens of thousands of spam posts or spam comments, which may not even be displayed on the site, it can cause query complexity to skyrocket. Try purging them entirely instead of marking them as spam.
- Innocent plugins or modules. Remember, anyone can write a plugin or a module to a web application. That doesn’t mean it was written professionally, or with database scalability in mind. You might have to disable some plugins that don’t work with the amount of data in your database well.
- Poor Queries. Sometimes, applications try to do too much with a single query. When this happens, it becomes easy to cause your database to read hundreds of thousands of rows or more! Not only is this a lot of work for the database server, but it slows your site down too while it is processing. Small fast queries equals a fast website!
- Database Size. We enforce an upper limit to the size of your database. Please see the hosting plan details to learn how large you can grow.
- Number of Tables. We also enforce upper limits to the number of tables you can have in your database. MySQL can only hold so many tables open at a time, and as a single user approaches that limit, it can cause serious issues for everyone.
You should be notified via email with the specific details as to the suspension. Using this information, you should have a pretty good idea of where to start looking to prevent the issue in the future. If all else fails, our support departments will be able to help you should you have more questions or need more information regarding the issue at hand.
Cheers~
