enabling fopen

Hi there,
I need to use fopen on my account, but it’s been disabled for security reasons. That’s fine, but I know what I’m doing. How do I enable it?

fopen is available on Linux hosting accounts and Windows hosting accounts running IIS 7. It should already be enabled. Are you receiving any errors when you try to use this?

It’s returning error #2, with a text of “fopen() has been disabled for security reasons”

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Found the problem. The site was IIS6, not IIS7, and IIS6 sites had fopen() disabled.

Useless discussion. No one has revealed what to do to enable fopen.

No steps need to be completed to enable fopen. As long as you are using a Linux hosting plan or a Windows hosting plan with IIS7, fopen is enabled and available. If you are getting errors when trying to use this, can you provide a URL of the error as well as the type of hosting you are using?
