FTP manager is unable to load when attempting to upload data onto my website. I am unsure if this is on my side or on Godaddy any information or troubleshooting would be appreciated.

@torren,

I have not seen any reports from our hosting team of a server issue that would be causing connection issues through the File Manager interface. Have you tested FTP connections through any other application?

If you are getting similar results, I would recommend reaching out to our Live Support via phone or email so we can further investigate the matter from within the account.

Hi,

I’m also getting a similar error, when I try to load it, I receive an error stating- “could not get directory info”

I’ve tried over several days, but only been able to get it to load once so far.

@narikenabilli,

My apologies for the delay.

Part of the error message you have indicated is stating that the Login authentication has failed. I understand you are using the Username and password for your hosting account, but have you tried a password reset to make sure it is correct?

Resetting Your Hosting Account Password (FTP Password)

If there are still issues attempting to access the account after a password reset, could you provide the domain name in question?

@paddybee,

Could you also provide the domain name you are attempting to access via FTP?

@ayeagley,

I have done some testing with our Hosting team for the server your domain is associated with. So far all FTP connection tests are functioning without any issue. We have confirmed with both our File Manager interface as well as third party FTP tools.

If you are still encountering an issue connecting to your account via FTP, I would recommend running a Packet Capture test through Wireshark to help further investigate the connection issues you are encountering. You can run this test through the instructions outlined in the following article:

Capturing Information Through Wireshark

As this test will reveal sensitive information that should not be displayed over an open forum, you will want to email these results to our Live Support directly at support@godaddy.com.
