FTP really slow, annoyances with GoDaddy

My FTP uploads and downloads are really slow. My connection speed is about 25Mbps up/down, and I get about 15Mbps FTP speeds with other hosts, but with GoDaddy I get only about 1Mbps. Is this normal?
I have been with GoDaddy for only a few days, but am already making so many shocking discoveries. 2 hours to create an empty database, 20MB zip file size limit. I know I could have known better by doing more research before signing up, but I trusted the brand name to be better.

Your upload and download speeds should not be that slow. If you continue to experience slow connection speeds, you’ll want to get in touch with our 24 hour support team so our tech guys can run some tests on your hosting account specifically. Please make sure to have a traceroute to your site handy.

What is your FTP upload/download method with GoDaddy? Is it the same as your other hosting accounts? I thought that my speeds were based on my ISP, but I will take your thoughts into consideration now.

I have same problem too. Actually I have many problem with this company. But they have very bad support team. They can’t understand at all. Sometimes one operator writing different, other operator writing different. I am not satisfied.

It is difficult to troubleshoot slow FTP performance through the support forums as we will need to have access to your hosting account for testing. You will want to continue to troubleshoot the issue with our 24 hour support team. When our tech guys run tests on a hosting account, it includes an FTP test from an external location. If our tech guys are able to make a solid connection, this typically indicates that the issue resides outside of our network.
