I’m trying to switch a primary domain from expiring account to another hosting account within Godaddy. This just seems to be quite a pain because primary domain cannot be removed and associated with another hosting account. Once it can’t be removed as it is primary – it cannot be used with other hosting account. How confusing is that?

I changed the primary domain name to dummy.mydomainname.com to make mydomainname.com available in the other account and it can take even one day to become effective. Still i’m not sure if it is available to use once it’s done.

I’ve had this trouble once before and it still hasn’t been made easier with godaddy. How come there can’t be a switch domain to another hosting account function? I bet this is one of top 10 issues that customers are having.

Support pages don’t have any information on this.

I remember the last time i was battling with similar issue. It seemed almost impossible to get it done and even support didn’t seem to know but at last they found out that subdomains can be used temporarily to make the transfer possible. :D
