Hello I just started using godaddy’s web hosting but i had bought the domain for the website here the problem is before i believe the web site was hosted else where so when I installed wordpress and i go to enter the wordpress dashboard it takes me to the old website and not the wordpress dashboard

You will want to ensure that your domain name is configured to work with your hosting plan with us. You will want to ensure that the domain name is pointing to the correct IP address. Information on finding the IP address of your hosting plan can be found here:

Once you have the IP address, this article explains how to manage the DNS settings of your domain. You will want to look at the A Record.
