Hello, I’ve multiple domains at godaddy and one of them (http://distritalao.com) is showing now and the an error message saying “No input file specified” in a blank page.

After searching I found that could be a problem related to the .htaccess file, but I can find an answer that solves the problem.

The site i’m talking about is a joomla 1.5.23 installtion from akeeba backup and is using aceSEF.

I’ve other websites using this same apllications and component and they dont show any error at any time, but they are installed on subdomains of my main website (lamplop.com)

I’ve a wordpress installation (casasembeja.com) and I’ve no problem with this site.

it seems to me that the godaddy server sometimes acts like there is no .htaccess file or no other important php files.

after a few seconds or minutes and some page refresh the problem goes away and the site goes back to normal.

This situation happens 3/4 times a day.

I contact the support team that sayid to turn on the error log but all I get is the error that a file is missing…

I guess that is a problem in godaddys server.

any help?

thanks

@lamplop

I am unable to duplicate the error you described at this time. As you stated this is an intermittent error, this will be difficult to diagnose. I would suggest contacting our Support Team again with a screen shot of the error and they can review your specific hosting plan to ensure your .htaccess file is being properly handled by our servers.

I have upgraded my hosting from Linux Economy hosting to 4GH and also upgraded to dedicated IP address.

I have Joomla 1.5.3 and have many subdomains..

After upgrade, I see only the subdomain home page and none of the links of the site works.

It shows up as “No input file specified”

Is this a transient error ?

Should I have to change anything in configuration.php or .htaccess ?

Support team does not go to the root of the problem.

Can anybody help ?

My website is http://food.industry-focus.net

I do not see any errors when clicking on several different links on your site. Is there a specific link that is not working that is showing the error you provided?

I just purchased the 4gh premium as well. After migrating a joomla 1.5.23 site, I get the same error, erratically. Is this because the files are on multiple servers and maybe not complete on all of them?

Mainly happens in the backend. If I rename the htaccess or modify it, it resolves for a few clicks, then goes back to no input error.

just changed my php back to 5.2 instead of 5.3… seems to have settled down now. Hopefully that was it.

hello, i had to host my website with other provider in order to work properly. it was affecting the other websites i had in my godaddy account has well. when i migrate the entire website to the other provider and deleted this one from godaddy the other websites at godaddy i have star working ok. i think this problem is very hard to solve, because it is not permanent, it may have to do with the way godaddy servers work managing the shared hosting and the htaccess files

ok, to get the error resolved on my clients subdomains, I had to change the php5.ini file in my root site folder to include:

cgi.fix_pathinfo=1

in fact, this is the only thing in my php5.ini

which resolved the issue so far.

Small update.

I tried to add this line “cgi.fix_pathinfo=1″ to the end of my php5.ini at the root but it still doesn’t work.

How can I fix that ?

@dimtank

Have you tried disabling FastCGI to resolve this issue?

To disable FastCGI

1. Under My Products, select Hosting
2. Click Launch
3. Under Settings, select File Extensions Management
4. Select Edit to the right of PHP file extensions
5. Select the corresponding PHP version without FastCGI
6. Click OK

Hi Tim,

Many new Joomla extensions require PHP 5.3. I currently have 4GH Grid Hosting and Joomla 2.5. Following your instructions, I am not offered a choice of PHP 5.3 without FastCGI.

Any advice will be appreciated.

@miamialbert

You are correct, we do not currently offer PHP 5.3 without FastCGI. You may want to check out a similar thread where other users offered some suggestions to resolve this:

All,

To problem I bet most are having is that they don’t have the php5.ini file in their root directory. To solve

this, simply copy your php.ini.

Prior to logging into your Godaddy hosting account, make sure you are logged into your Joomla administration

area. I recommend opening another or separate browser and then select Global Configuration>Site Settings and only

click the “yes” redio button under SEO Settings for Search Engine Friendly URLs.

Step 1: Log into your godaddy.com hosting manager
Step 2: Click on FTP File Manager
Step 3: Find your php.ini file and click copy
Step 4: Rename file to php5.ini
Step 5: Go back to your browser with your website displayed and his “Ctrl” + “F5″ and it should be working.

Hope this helps some.

Are you getting the message “”No Input File Specified” after you turn on SEO Friendly URLs if you are hosting

with Godaddy? I’ve run into this problem a few times with them, and thought I’d share what worked for me. It

seems that you may not have a php5.ini file installed in your root directory. To solve this, simply copy your

php.ini and rename the new file to php5.ini. I’ve outlined the steps I used below using Godaddy’s hosting, of

course you can use an FTP client as well.
