I uploaded an “Index.html” after deleting the “Welcome.html”, and now it only shows a 403 forbidden error. What would the issue be? Thanks!

@diane_mitchell – It sounds like you may be on a Linux plan which is cAsE sensitive, make sure it is named index.html instead of Index.html

’403 Forbidden’ means you don’t have access. A ’404 Page Not Found’ would have come up had the cAsE of your inquiry been wrong.

Check your permissions…

Hope that helps! ;-)

@diane_mitchell,

Both @Nate D and @sven2157 can be on to something here.

However, if the hosting account is a Linux plan and this is the root directory your domain is resolving to; I am more inclined to think what @Nate D advises would be the most likely. A 403 error can be permission related. But in Linux, if no index content can be found in the root directory at all this could also appear as a 403.

You mentioned uploading it as “Index.html”. Have you tried renaming it to “index.html” yet to be sure?

@chrisg

It was the capitalization that was the issue. The second I changed it to “index.html” it work perfect! Thanks!

@imagencilla,

When looking at your domain through public DNS testing, I am showing that it currently resolves to the following nameservers:

ns2.hyrax.arvixe.com
ns1.hyrax.arvixe.com

As these are part of a third party hosting network, I wouldn’t be able to confirm specifically why your domain is not resolving to the uploaded site content.

Did you mean to direct this domain to our hosting services? If so, you will want to make sure the domain is pointed to our hosting nameservers:
