Magento images broken!

Hi there,
I have godaddy hosting and I installed Magento. The problem is my images are all broken even if you follow a direct link. I installed magento in a folder on the public html, but even if I upload an image outside the magento installation folder, still doesn’t work. Moreover, if I try do download that particular image again via ftp, I can’t view the image, sometimes is ruined and I can only see a few pixels and sometimes I can’t evem preview the image at all.
What I tried: I tried the .htacces fix and it doesn’t work! I tried to edit it, delete it, rename it.. nothing works.
I tried to rename the cache folder, following another solution on the web, doesn’t work.
I installed and reinstalled magento 10 times, delete and created new databases, I also installed OSCommerce with has the same issue ONLY ON GODADDY.
I’ll be Grateful if somebody with a solution takes the time to help me..
Thank you,
Robert

Sorry to hear you are having this issue, we are more than happy to help. What is the URL for the site? Also, please provide the path to an image directly.

http://popacorp.com/up/ That’s the website and a direct url with an image is http://popacorp.com/up/media/article-demo1.jpg
The technical support cannot help me because this is a third party software.. they say..
Thank you,
Robert

I can see the error when navigating to the image itself. What format is the image in, RGB? I have seen this when the image file is saved as CMYK.
Keep us posted,

FIXED!
After almost a week of trying the most complicated methods and every single solution on every single forum I eventually managed to find the problem. I don’t know if I’m happy because I found the issue, this small detail spent all my time.. anyway:
When we buy templates for magento, oscommerce or joomla etc. they say in the instruction pdf to upload files with “ASCII file transfer”..
)
That’s what I did, I turned it on from the beginning and ever since, nothing worked, everytime I uploaded an image, the server ruined it.
SWITCH THE FILE TRANSFER FROM “ASCII” TO “AUTO” (eg. filezilla ftp uploader: Transfer > Transfer type > AUTO ) and that will fix it, no matter if you’re with godaddy or anybody else.
Thank you very much Jason, I hope this small silly problem won’t happen again to anyone.
Regards,
Robert
