Hi,
I’m trying to install Magento 1.7.0.0 on my shared account but when I get to the database configuration step I get an 500 Internal Server Error. It doesn’t seem a credentials issue because the database is populated with tables, but at the same time I can’t get the logs of the error.
I’ve already enabled the pdo_mysql extension in the php5.ini and modified the permissons in the appropriate directories, so I don’t know what else can it be.
Is it possible to install it on a Windows account?

Thanks in advance.

PS. I am also not able to access the Hosting Control Center (https://hostingmanager.secureserver.net/) “Error
There was an error in the application. We apologize for the inconvenience. This error has been logged and reported.”

@lerox

You should be able to install Magento onto a Windows hosting account, however error logs are only available with Linux shared hosting accounts. You could, however, enable detailed errors. Check out the link below for assistance in enabling detailed errors on Windows hosting accounts:

it’s very time consuming task to move Magento project from development to live server. Actually there is few error creatd with Magento project, when we move same development server’s fils to live server. sometimes we have to make a new magento install and then move templates and skins/media files. This procees consume a lots of developer time becuase files upload time get doubled.

you go through this link for details:
