Multiple websites

I have just subscribed to GoDaddy’s Windows Deluxe hosting plan. I have 2 domain names that are registered with another registrar. Perhaps it would be better to transfer them?
I have been able to setup the principal domain and have, I think, understood that I need to create a directory in its root to have other websites like (mysecondwebsite) and copy the files for it into this directory.
The principle website works and I can see it on the Internet. The mysecondwebsite.com shows an error “The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred”. I have updated the DNS with the registar (the same DNS name for both my domains) but I think I need to point to the folder for my mysecondwebsite.com to display on the Internet. Have I understood this correctly? If I have I am lost as how to achieve this.
Thanks for any help.

It sounds as though your set up of the secondary domain is correct. This is a very general error that means there’s a problem with the website displaying, but the details aren’t readily available. With Windows, it’s most commonly invalid requests through a web.config file. You will want to enable detailed error messages within your web.config file to obtain additional information on the cause of the error:
How do I enable Windows hosting accounts to show more detailed error messages?
Additionally, you can contact our Support Team directly to review your server configuration to determine if there are any server related errors.

Thank you for your reply Tim. At least I got the set up correct.
The secondary website for the moment only has an HTML, a CSS and a PNG file.

I would definitely advise you to contact our support team if you do not have a web.config file for your secondary website, there may be a server issue causing this error.
