#1045 – Access denied for user ‘myusername’@'an ip number’ (using password: YES)

@ramazank
Have you tried resetting the password? Keep in mind the username is generally the same as the database name unless you’ve created a read only username. That’s pretty much the only time I’ve seen this error on our shared hosting accounts.

I have the exact same problem. Created 2 new databases this morning and can’t loin to either of them with phpmyadmin.

Me too. I have created 2 new databases today and I can’t login with the credentials I supplied. I have also reset the password already, but it phpMyAdmin refuses to connect, and wordpress tells me it cannot connect to the database. Please let us know what the issue is.

@ramazank, @jinny and @samfsmith,
The error reported in the first post here is an authentication error. It can be caused by user error (incorrectly typed username/password) or a system issue. If you all have the #1045 error when you try to access your respective databases, and resetting the password to a new one does not help you to access it (after allowing 30 minutes for the new password to update), then you should contact our support team so they can test your access to phpMyAdmin to see if there are any system issues that need to be addressed. If the system is operating correctly, they may be able to direct you better into entering the correct settings to access phpMyAdmin. You can contact through through phone or email through http://support.godaddy.com/support. This is not something we can test through the Community Forums.

it seems like we all have the same problem. Cannot log into phpMyAdmin. WHY? Why is this happening to so many people? How will you resolve this. Its not like your support team is helping much really. They just lead me in circles.

@juls123 (and @astrobunny–sorry I missed you above),
As I just stated, to test your account and see if there are any issues within our system that need to be fixed, you need to contact our support team. We can’t test this through the public Community Forums.
We are not aware of any issues with database administration issues which involve phpMyAdmin at this time. I personally logged into my 4GH Linux hosting account and open phpMyAdmin for one of my MySQL databases without getting any errors, such as you reported. As such, it does not appear to be system wide. There may be an issue with your particular database servers or each of you may be encountering different problems: mistyped login credentials, no cookies enabled in your browser, security options in the browser preventing login, etc.
I recommend to ensure you get your particular account looked at, that you each contact our support team. Give them details as to which database(s) you cannot access through phpMyAdmin and the error you receive. They can test this to help you further.

I got the same message …just created my first sql baze but dont have access now..
#1045 – Access denied for user
samfsmith said 1 year, 11 months ago:
I can login to existing databases just fine, so it is not a browser or cookie problem. It’s the two new ones that I created yesterday that I cannot login to with phpmyadmin, even after changing the password, etc.
yogibrad said 1 year, 11 months ago:
Am havin the same issue. I created the database yesterday. I tried resetting the password, cleared my browser’s cache but still wont work.
Naaah… I dont think i mistyped my login credentials.

@investrating and @samfsmith,
I confirmed with our Hosting team that contacting Support is the way to go here to have these types of errors corrected if you have ruled out the usual suspects from the user’s end. We apologize for the inconvenience and will get your access issues fixed as soon as possible once they are reported to our support teams either over the phone or through email.
