Ok, I made a website, well the first part of it on Microsoft Publisher and used Filezilla FTP to upload it to godaddy. I then checked godaddy to verify that it did indeed load and it did. Now what do I have to do now to get it on the web? Got all my files I need in godaddy under my domain name….

@rustyjcollins
You will need to ensure that the domain name is pointed to the hosting account and that the default file that you want to display is one of the following names:

If you’re still having issues, let us know how you currently have it configured, so we can help you with the steps you need to take.

I must be missing somthing, can you tell me how to check to see if the domain name is pointed to the hosting account and see if I have the right default file.
I believe I have it as index.html right now.

@rustyjcollins
You will need to point the domain’s A record to the hosting account’s IP address. Here’s how to:
Let us know the domain.

You will need to ensure that you have a default index file in the root of your hosting account like index.html. It doesn’t look like you do because it should be replacing the default welcome page.

Gotcha, this may sound stupid but whats the ”root” and how do I find and change the root file?
Sorry, I’m kind of jumping into this head first.

@rustyjcollins
The root is the start or home directly of the hosting account. It’s the default folder of the hosting account where the welcome.html is currently located. You need to upload your index file there.

Re-uploaded and this time saved it as index.html as root pointed at rustycollinsmusic.com
Now trying to log on through website I got s 403 error message saying I’m forbidden and dont have premission to access the server.

I removed my index.html file and have nothing but appche in there.
I believe I have my domain pointed at the A record IP address.
That being said, I should upload VIA Filezilla my website made through Publisher thats saved as ”index.html”….then what?

@rustyjcollins – I am able to see a web page at the domain you have posted. I am sorry to be the barer of bad news, but Publisher is notorious for making websites with a lot of compatibility issues. It is great for making printed documents, but not so good at actually writing HTML code.
Try accessing the website in different browsers.
