OpenSSL on Linux s

I have a deluxe Linux hosting account. The payment gateway I’m using requires that OpenSSL be installed on the server in order to use their API. Is OpenSSL available?

@teezecrost,
Unfortunately, OpenSSL is not supported on our shared hosting accounts. If you wish to use that application, you would need to use a Virtual Dedicated or Dedicated Server:

Thanks, Mike.
That’s a little pricey when i’m just starting out, especially when plopped on top of the merchant accounts etc I just signed up for. May have to shop around.

*Actually, turns out it’s something that comes with apache by default. You can find out by doing a phpinfo().

While certain aspects of OpenSSL are available on our Web Hosting plans, such as decoding CSRs and examining key files, OpenSSL cannot be used to create CSRs or install SSL Certificates on our Web Hosting. Depending on your needs of the application, you may be able to continue using the Web Hosting.

I want to use gmail’s smtp server to send mails from our website. The program works fine when I test it on my local machine (with OpenSSL enabled) but throws connection error when I upload it to the server. Is it because OpenSSL is not available?

Our Web Hosting services do not support using external SMTP servers to send emails. If you would like to send emails form your Web Hosting plan, you would need to use our relay server. Use the following relay server in your code:
relay-hosting.secureserver.net
You do not need to provide a user name and password for this relay server.
