Pages Not Updating
ccosgro said 1 year, 1 month ago:
I have made changes to my site and re-uploaded the pages, but the old pages still show – even after waiting a day and checking back. I even tried deleting first, then uploading, and the old version still shows. Is there a cache somewhere I need to delete?

@ccosgro
I would advise trying to clear your browser’s cache, re-starting your browser, and then attempting to load your page again. If that does not work try another browser. If you see the same old site, reply back with your domain so we can check what we see when going to it.

The updated pages still are not showing. I made changes to some of the images on the pages, and those show – so I know I’m not viewing an old version cached on my computer. The URL is http://www.colleewobbles.com. I also keep getting a 404 error for one of my pages http://www.colleewobbles.com/logos.html – even though I have uploaded it several time over the last week, and it shows in my File Manager. Thanks for your help.

@ccosgro
I get the 404 error as well when trying to view the logos. Are you sure that the file is on the root of the account, or is it within a folder? As for updates to the site, I would also recommend reviewing your code, making sure the files are referenced correctly.

I see the logos in the main colleewobbles folder in File Manager. It is the same place as all the other pages which do show. I guess I’ll just delete it again, re-name it, and start over. I will go over my code again for the other pages, but since I just made minor changes to existing files, I don’t see how that would prevent the new version from uploading. I was hoping to avoid completely deleting and re-doing my site, but it seems like that is what I will have to do.
Can you at least tell me how long it typically takes your system to reflect changes to an uploaded html file, so I know how long to wait to see if my changes worked?
Thanks again.

@ccosgro
I apologize for the delay. To answer your question in regard to changes, when the file is uploaded on the server, it is available immediately. Many times the browser has obsolete information cached, in which case you would want to clear it.

No problem – a friend solved the problem for me. Turns out I had tried to be too organized and put all of my files into a folder inside a folder, so they weren’t recognized by the browser. It’s sorted out now.
Thanks for the responses.

Hey there, just cancelled the Website Tonight/Instant Page thing and uploaded my real pages to http://www.curdcuredcrust.com. It kept coming up with a 404, so I accessed it via an ipad that had never been to the site and it came up with a Go Daddy Ad Farm instead of my website. What the!!! Please help.

Hello there!
I am having the exact same problem here… don’t know what to do!! please help.

@aussiesloth
It looks like you have the DNS pointed correctly now.
@jaimeca
Make sure that the A record(@) for your domain is resolving to the IP address of your hosting account. Based on the page you are seeing, it sounds like the domain is resolving to our parked IP address.

Hello! I am having the same issue where I updated some code (a new link to an embeded video) and the old video is still showing on our index page. I have deleted my browser’s cache and cookies but it still has not updated. Thanks!

@mandtfilms
If this is still an issue, please post the URL where we can see the video.

Same issue here with the Videos. Here is the interesting part:
Firefox: If you see the source of the page from the browser, it points to old video – but plays the correct video.
Chrome: If you see the source of the page from the browser, it points to old video – and plays the old video.
One thing that is common is that page source shows old video as link – just that Firefox plays new/correct one but not Chrome.
Any thoughts?
