@azetect,
That message is telling you that your domain’s MX Records are not pointing to GoDaddy’s servers properly. See the following:
http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/321
Once you updated your MX Records, if you continue having issues, please let us know!

I have the same problem. I am trying to point the MX records to Gmail. I tried entering them manually, as well as using this link:
https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/google/gmail_login.asp
But it always says it’s pending.
Is there anything else I can do?

Clint,
Thanks for the advice. However, the link you provide says how to check the MX records. It does not say how to make sure they are correct. I know what my MX records are, however, I don’t know if they are correct. Where can we can explicit advice on what to set the MX records to? I have seen conflicting information. I have added DNS records to my wordpress blog, to enable email at godaddy, but redirection of the godaddy domain name to a wordpress address. Email, however, is not working. It’s always “Pending setup: Validating the MX record.” The MX records I entered at Wordpress.com are:
MX 3 imap.secureserver.net.
MX 1 m1pismtp01-v01.prod.mesa1.secureserver.net.
MX 2 p3pismtp01-v01.prod.phx3.secureserver.net.
MX 4 pop.secureserver.net.
MX 5 smtpout.secureserver.net.
This was based on the following support info:http://support.godaddy.com/help/4228 which is the same link you suggest. It is stated that:
“Verify that your MX settings match those found in your Email Control Center. Using an invalid email username prevents your MX records from setting up correctly.”
How does one determine if a username is invalid? Since my MX settings are what I input in the Wordpress.com servers, I certainly have the match. But are they correct?
Also, what’s a little odd is that I followed the instructions to “Click here for help finding your host names and MX record settings.” I get the following information regarding server addresses:
HOST: m1pismtp01-v01.prod.mesa1.secureserver.net
HOST: p3pismtp01-v01.prod.phx3.secureserver.net
IMAP: imap.secureserver.net
POP: pop.secureserver.net
SMTP: smtpout.secureserver.net
MX Records
1 m1pismtp01-v01.prod.mesa1.secureserver.net
2 p3pismtp01-v01.prod.phx3.secureserver.net
3 imap.secureserver.net
4 pop.secureserver.net
5 smtpout.secureserver.net
You’ll note that the MX records and HOST names mirror, because I used those host names to set up the MX records. Is that correct or not? I can’t tell.
I remain confused about CNAME. Later in the article, it states that: “Log on to your hosting provider or third-party domain name system manager. Locate the CNAMEs and set the following:”
What do CNAMES have to do with email? I have added no CNAME records to my Wordpress nameservers. Should I? Would this be something like:
CNAME imap imap.secureserver.net
?
Then I need to rethink the MX servers are supposed to be set. I’ll need to find that information. If you can help, I’d appreciate it. Thank you.
