Anytime I try to visit my site through the domain – http://www.sparkrj.org – I’m getting a “page not found” error.

My site was uploaded and built using wordpress at – http://www.sparkrj.org/content.

This should load whenever anyone visits http://www.sparkrj.org, but it does not. I’ve tried forwarding and that just leaves with me a “site not available” message.

I’ve tried troubleshooting this issue myself, but all of the help files on Go Daddy keep redirecting back to the main help page.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

@sparkrjnow,

Because your site has been uploaded into a ‘content’ folder, there is no file present in the root directory (where sparkrj.org resolves to) for the visitor to be directed to this folder.

Since you mentioned that this is a WordPress site, you will want to refer to the information provided in the following article to move your site from the ‘contents’ folder into the root directory of your account:

Moving Your WordPress Site to a New Directory

Thank you for your assistance @chrisg. I haven’t started going through those steps just yet.

It’s really odd that I’m now having this problem. The site has been set up this way for years with folks going to http://www.sparkrj.org or sparkrj.org and being directed to sparkrj.org/content. I’m not sure what I might’ve done in the recent upgrade that would cause this issue.

I’ll post back my progress on your suggestions at a later time. I will mention that I went through the new directory migration using WP’s steps and it ended up breaking the admin bar on the front end. so, we’ll see.

Again, thank you!

@sparkrjnow,

Just checking back with you to see if you were able to get this matter worked out?

Running a quick test, I seeing http://www.sparkrj.org and sparkrj.org traffic directing to the same WordPress content at this time. So it looks like we were able to get this resolved.
