Redirects not working properly
patwdw said 1 year, 1 month ago:
Good Morning!
I’ve been trying to create a new redirect for the past two days. When I create the redirect for my (www.)domain version to go to my (non-www.)domain version and press save only part of my domain name shows up in the “redirect from” field. Obviously, then, the redirect is not working.
I thought it was my internet connection acting up yesterday, but I tried it again today and it is doing the same exact thing. Please let me know if you have any ideas about what is going on.
Thanks!

@patwdw
How did you try to make the redirect, through your .htaccess, or the Redirects Manager?
Jason
patwdw said 1 year, 1 month ago:
I used the Redirects Manager.

I tried it again and tested it with the “With or Without” the www prefix option chosen. That redirect seemed to take hold because then it sent my website on a redirect loop error.
So it seems that it is only creating the incorrect redirect when I choose “Only with” www prefix.

before I start do redirects take effect instantly or do they take more time to process, because my domain is not redirecting.
Im workign from the redirect manager and im selecting
all domains
Path is current web domain
Redirect to with or without www (because it wont allow me to do anything else if I put something else in besides all domains)
Prefix is http
Domain is new domain I want to redirect to
go to path is name of old domain
& im selecting root direct.
Is this right?

@lorb
The steps you explained sound good. Are you still having issues?
@patwdw – is your redirect working?

I am also having a problem with URL redirect. I’ve talked to two people at Godaddy tech support, but still no luck in solving the following issue:

I would like to redirect my root folder for the primary domain to a subfolder where my Wordpress site is located, but not have it appear as a redirect in the address bar. I mean I’d like it to appear as though you are still in the root area so that page names/IDs immediately follow the domain name and are not coming after the blog folder name.

Is this possible? I’ve tried it a few different ways — twice with tech support assistance — but it’s not working using the admin panel for a clean URL redirect.

@mbhr
This can be done through the Redirects Manager or by using a redirect in your .htaccess file:

The issue is that I try to delete the redirect record. But the computer show”Connection failure or timeout. Please try again later”. And when edit the record, it always create one new record and do not correct the old one.
Please kindly help me to remove all the redirect record.

@frankxu
If you require assistance to change the record, you will need to contact our Support Team directly to access the account.
If there is anything else we can do, let us know.
