reset "FTP" password and database is now disconnected from server

Hi,
So, this is the third time this has happened to me. I have not been able to get my blog back up and running for almost three weeks now. I finally was able to access Wordpress’ dashbboard, but now I am back to square one. The main issue is that there is not a “wp-config.php” file in the FTP file manager. My blog has a sample-config.php file, but unfortunately, all of the values I keep entering are continually rejected. I have entered the MySQL database name, the User ID (the FTP ID and the Database login ID as well as trying it with the SQL database User ID followed by the set of numbers as it is displayed once logged into the SQL dashboard, the new password, the host server address, and then I enter the url in another window to generate new secret “salt” keys and enter each code relating to each variable. I hit save and still no connection. Right now the file is in the wp-content file. I have no clue why there is not a wp-config.php file but believe me when I say there is not. I had create my own last week and a rep on the phone tried to tell me that I had failed to see the file, I got all excited for nothing. I have spent literally countless hours trying to get my blog up and running again and still no luck. I have called in four times. Please please help me!

@myhautespots,
It sounds like the issue is regarding not being able to properly connect to the Database. I would suggest to review the following:
Why is WordPress unable to connect to my database during install?
However, we would be happy to review this further to see if there is any more specific information. What is the URL to the site in question?

Hi Sherrod,
I actually was able to finally find the config.php file and changed the settings after connecting to filezilla for the 7th time! However, the site still does not appear. I am able to connect to the wordpress again through, so at least that is going again. The site url is blog.myhautespots.com. I have been told by many of the reps that they are able to view the site perfectly using Explorer, however, I use a Mac, and Safari is the browser I use regularly. I cannot access the site at all. IE only shows a few icons as does firefox, but it is not coming up at all at this point. Thanks for your willingness to help me out.

I have tested the site in FF, IE, Chrome, and Safari, and everything looks good. As for the broken images, I would try to upload them once again. If you continue to have issues, let us know.

Really? Because I can’t access it, my manager just sent an email that she couldn’t access it either. Actually, I’ve received several emails from friends wondering what has happened to my blog. How do I restore from a back-up? Because I tried moving files around when the theme in the SQL was set on twenty eleven instead of freedream , and I ended up really screwing things up. I’d like to just restore from a back-up but I’m really nervous to touch anything at this point. The address is blog.myhautespots.com not abbyfender.com
Thanks,
Abby
