Script testing and Error Logs

I’ve hosted several sites on Godaddy’s servers for many years and, although I haven’t needed it
for some time, I remember being able to test perl/cgi scripts. The results identified what
line the error was on or near and gave a brief description of the error. I thought I used the
error logs for this. Currently, although I’ve enabled the error logs, no errors (pertaining to
the script I’m trying to test) are registering. I sent an email to Godaddy Support. The
response informed me that my script worked perfectly well, produced no errors and that I should
enable my Error Logs (which my email informed them I had already done.) So, I’m stuck.

The test form at: http://www.telacommunications.com/test/testgrep.html
(and which calls the script, testgrep.pl, in my cgi-bin/test directory)
produces a retun page containing the following text:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything
you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

The Error logs contain *nothing* regarding this form/script.

Note: Since receiving the reply from Godaddy Support, I have uploaded another, similar but
not identical form and script. One that *does* work and produces no errors.
http://www.telacommunications.com/test/testgrep-yes.html
calls the script, testgrep-yes.pl in my cgi-gin/test directory.
I uploaded this form and script because Godaddy Support’s reply included advice about clearing
my cache and other advice that cannot be the cause of the problem.

I am not asking for advice on script code. The problems I am writing to ask about are…
1. What is preventing the Internal Server (or other) errors from being recorded in the Error Logs
and
2. What alternative methods are available on Godaddy’s server for testing perl/cgi scripts
(so that the error and line # of the error are identified)?

I searched the Help files, but couldn’t locate any info about script testing – except docs which
instruct users to enable their Error Logs and use those.

Thanks for your help.

@tcee

Because testing this will require access to the account, I am going to have a member of our Hosting Team reach out to you directly.

We appreciate your patience,
