Can a user I’ve added to my FTP via the control centre go on my website and upload a file for me? Or do they HAVE to download software to do this? How do they access the FTP?

@jameson2008,

The FTP file manager provided as part of your Hosting Control Center interface can only be used with the primary FTP account. The secondary users will need to access the hosting account through a third party FTP application; such as Filezilla, CuteFTP, or any other application you can find through your preferred search engine.

For additional information on connecting to a hosting plan via FTP, you will want to refer to the information provided in the following article:

Uploading Files to Your Website (FTP)

Hi there,

I’ve created FTP users (secondary) atmy shared linux hosting, but when trying to connect via FTP client it says that “Access denied”. I tried all possible variants (SFTP, FTP- NE, FTP+SSL, FTP+TLS …) but can’t login. What I do wrong :( ?

@grigor,

Have you reviewed the settings outlined in the FTP article I previously referenced? If you still cannot connect to the hosting account with your secondary accounts after confirming these settings, I would recommend reaching out to our Live Support via phone or email so we can further investigate the access issues with these user accounts.
