Success Story: Dentists4kids.com
Dentists4kids.com is a group of professionals within the specialty of pediatric dentistry. They work exclusively on custom Web site design and Internet marketing for dentists. Their goal is to create a national communication and reference network between pediatric dentists, parents and the entire pediatric community.
“We’ve heard stories about children who are scared to go to the dentist,” says Julie Pease of Dentists4kids.com. “But after seeing a dentist’s Web site, these same children can’t wait to visit the office. With our help, they are able to go on a virtual tour and see all the fun things in store for them. They can print coloring books or activity sheets about visiting the dentist, or even watch a video detailing their upcoming appointment.”
Much like those children, Pease was scared… scared of Web hosting until she discovered Go Daddy. “We are celebrating 10 years of business on the Web. In the beginning we made the mistake of using other companies for our hosting. We were constantly on the phone with problems. Support calls were a nightmare, sometimes being put on hold for 30 minutes.”
In 2006, Pease made the switch to Go Daddy. “Once we got smart and moved to Go Daddy, our business started running SO much smoother. Plus, we were assigned an account representative who was at our beck and call, was quick to answer our emails and, best of all, gave us a direct line answered each and every time – no more countless minutes on hold.”
Once Pease and Dentists4kids.com were able to leave the worries of hosting behind and focus their efforts on marketing, business skyrocketed and their client base doubled. “Go Daddy worked closely with us, allowing us to shine professionally,” continues Pease. “Our experience can only be described as superb, whether with domain registration, SSL certificates, Site Analytics or Quick Shopping Cart®. We thank you for that.”

Go Daddy web hosting is the bomb… for the price. You get a lot of powerful features, but if you have trouble, the cost may be higher than you thought.
First, the Go Daddy website is a huge, complicated abortion of advertisements and worthless junk mixed right in with the critical controls that you need to operate your purchased products. It is so confusing that frequently the support reps cannot even find their way around it. When you make any kind of purchase, Go Daddy beats you to death with “do you want to add this garbage for only $99.99 per year?” Go Daddy seems to be the most high-pressure, in-your-face sales monster in the web-hosting industry.
If you are extremely technical and know your way around a web server system, then you might do ok.
If you plan to rely on your hosting provider for quality support and information, FORGET GO DADDY. The stress and headaches you will get from trying to get support will quickly become a major issue if you don’t have the ability to understand it all yourself.
I’ve been with Go Daddy for many years now, and I do not plan to leave because their systems are respected throughout the internet and generally they work pretty well over the long term. The problems arise when you have an issue that doesn’t fall into the brain-dead help files that the reps quote endlessly in their support responses. Sifting through all the BS and job-dodging they do could make you completely crazy if you don’t already have good tech skills yourself.
In summary, Go Daddy has great systems at good prices, but their business ethics are borderline, and their support system for paying customers absolutely SUCKS.
