Dear Guys,

My hosting @ godaddy was Windows shared ultimate, but currently I changed it to Web-Ultimate Secure-windows (4GH).

Believe it or not my site is currently very very slow. It was very fast before, so what is the benefit of 4GH Hosting and even I can’t back to my previous plan.

Please help!

@jarule

4GH hosting utilizes the resources of several servers, where shared hosting uses the resources of only one server. If your site is running slow you will want to contact our support team to so your hosting and database servers can be reviewed. They will be able to evaluate the issue and advise of the cause.

You must be joking, I have spoken to customer support and have gotten nothing in the way of assistance. My site ran for 4 years on shared hosting with decent speed and since I have switched to the 4GH I have nothing but delays. 20 – 30 seconds to open a page.

The cracker jack folks in customer support have advised me that it must be and can only be my code.

Although my site has not changed in 4 years they have assured me that web pages and code sometime change on their own …. it like talking to children.

I have also been assured that GoDaddy has NO SERVICES AVAILABLE to evaluate my problem or look in to the delays.

@prosmdr and @gmbattles

While contacting our Support Team is the best option to address speed and connectivity issues as they can review the details of your specific servers, if you can reply with your domains I would be more than happy to see if I can shed some light on the issues you are encountering.

With all due respect, come on.. cut the crap. We all can see our sites down.. not just the complex ASP/PHP areas but any static file on the server will not load. Godaddy – FIX THIS, and be HONEST about it!!! Your reputation is eroding quickly. You are not the only hosting company in town.

Have you contacted our support team to have your hosting plan reviewed and tested? It would be helpful to our team if you can provide additional information about your connection to our servers:

My new 4GH site is painfully slow too. Its basically not coming up right now and this isnt the first time.

I have nothing fancy going on with this site. Just 1 html page with no include files or javascript.. its the most html-101 page one could write. What a shame. I’ve got another site on the good ole windows shared hosting and its amazingly fast. 4GH is not worth it at all.

*by the way, the site has still not come up, its now 10:37am and I tried to go to is at 10:20am. Its not even timing out, its just waiting and waiting and waiting!!

Thats far beyond pathetic.

@NameGuy

Sorry to hear that your site is not loading properly. Can you reply with your domain and a trace route so I can test it with you?

I’m having this same issue. I have contacted support four or five times now this week alone and I get a run around of different excuses.

Excuses so far:
1) Wordpress – Told me it was my code and to run all these different things on it to make it faster. No such luck.
2) Attack on Server – Told me there was an attack on the server and that it was under lock down to keep the attacker out or something. Said things would be back to normal in 24 hours. No such luck.
3) Was told my nameserver selection was messed up and that I needed to go in, fix it, change it to “Hosting” or something and that that could solve the issue. I did as I was told, the guy walked me through it. No such luck.
4) Was told that my server is under ‘unusually heavy load’ and that they don’t know why that is, but that the admins were looking into it and that it should be solved within 24 hours. No such luck.
5) Was told the same thing as #3, that they could try to move me to an SSL server but that I wouldn’t necessarily move. The guy told me basically my only option at this point is to wait or find a new host. But even if I wait, the problem may continue. What the heck…

I don’t even know what I’m paying for anymore. Been with you guys since 2007 and never had any issues until this week and now its absolutely non-stop. Pages either take 10 minutes to load, or after 10 minutes they say Internal Server Error – Apache Server at http://www.mysite.com Port: 80.

I run a community-based wordpress and a gaming blog. People do and will be using my site more frequently than ever now and I can’t even release it to the people I want to release it to because I can’t trust that the pages will load in a timely fashion and I don’t want to scare people away!

When he told me about the attack on the server I thought, “Well that’s fine and understandable. This is the internet, things like that happen fairly often. I’ll give it some time.” But day after day, I swear it’s just getting worse.

My two sites share one hosting plan. A Deluxe (laff) 4GH plan.

I figure you can try to help me, but I can’t imagine that anyone is going to be able to fix this at this point. I’ve pretty much lost all faith here.

@alice_kaye

I have extensively tested the server response time both internally as well as through external tests and at this time all results were within normal response times, though I know you posted this issue several hours earlier.

While I can not access your account information, I can help to clarify some of the answers you have been provided by our support team.

1. WordPress sites often load slowly because of poorly configured plugins. If you have not already it is a good idea to check out this help article to install our WordPress Performance Profiler Plugin:

Using the WordPress Performance Profiler Plugin

2. Slowness issues you are experiencing may be related to filters we apply to protect your site when we notice a large volume of external traffic that occurs on the server. We place these filters to ensure only legitimate requests are being processed. Our servers and environments are fully operational at this time.

If you would like to have your server times reviewed in greater detail by our hosting support team, please email support@godaddy.com and reference this thread and we would be more than happy to try and resolve the slowness issue you are experiencing.
