The connection was reset, error message
WebRafter said 1 year, 4 months ago:
Whenever I visit my website, the first time it will return error – “The connection was reset – The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading”, then after that reloading the page, website loads OK, this have been occurring for at least two days, traffic to website have dropped, this is not reflected in the server logs. No change have been done on my side.
Please help or point to possible reasons for this. The hosting account is a “Ultimate Secure – Linux” account.
Thanks.

Using the http://www.askapache.com/online-tools/http-headers-tool/ tool I was able to see that the server does not return any HTTP codes, this was returned by the webserver:
“GET / HTTP/1.1
Host: http://www.123linking.com
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1) AppleWebKit/535.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/17.0.963.56 Safari/535.11 (via http://www.askapache.com)
Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8
Accept-Language: en-us,en;q=0.5
Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.3
Connection: keep-alive
Referer: http://www.123linking.com
Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate,sdch
—————————————————————————————————-
“
just that, a normal response will looks like this:
“GET / HTTP/1.1
Host: http://www.800linking.com
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1) AppleWebKit/535.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/17.0.963.56 Safari/535.11 (via http://www.askapache.com)
Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/*;q=0.8
Accept-Language: en-us,en;q=0.5
Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.3
Connection: keep-alive
Referer: http://www.800linking.com
Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate,sdch
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Date: Sun, 19 Feb 2012 13:24:18 GMT
Server: Apache
X-Pingback: http://www.800linking.com/xmlrpc.php
Link: <http://wp.me/1gMAG>; rel=shortlink
Vary: Accept-Encoding
Content-Encoding: gzip
Content-Length: 7327
Keep-Alive: timeout=15, max=100
Connection: Keep-Alive
Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8
—————————————————————————————————-”
As you can see no return codes are returned on the first Raw HTTP headers.
May be this can help.
Thanks.

The problem still is present, any site hosted on the IP: 184.168.191.1 have the same problem. This have been going on for more than 72 hours already.
jarock said 1 year, 4 months ago:
Yes is annoying is a shared ip problem I have come across it a few times. Sometimes it also redirects your site to a random folder. I just upgraded to Dedicated and the issues are gone. Not that you should have to. But I always have problems on Shared IP.

@WebRafter
I am not showing any reports of new issues with the server and in my own testing was not able to duplicate the issue. If you are still experiencing this error please contact our Support Team directly so that your specific hosting plan can be tested in detail.

The problem still is present at this very moment, you can see it using the http://www.askapache.com/online-tools/http-headers-tool/ tool, this is really amazing.

Has this issue been resolved for you? If this happens again, please make a note of the exact time and date so that we can research the server at that time.
@mandis
Were you having the same issue with the header responses? I checked your site with Host-Tracker.com, and received 35 OK responses, and no failures, with an average response time of 4.96seconds. Let me know if you are still having issues!

I have the same problem in last two days!
And support told me : Many times when we see that happening, there is something restricting traffic out of your country into the servers. At this point everything on our side is working well. I would recommend checking with your internet provider to see if there are problems on their side allowing traffic out of the country.
I checked everything on my side , and everything is ok!

@lanmy
I would be happy to look into this for you. Do you mind posting your domain name for me?
Thanks!

I’m having this exact same issue. Been going on for the past 2 days. Every time I click on my site it has “The Connection was Reset” error. Is there anyway to fix this soon? I have a presentation on Friday and it would be devastating if every button I clicked lead to an error. Let me know.
