Im new to web design and am a bit confused about this…I have made my website using dreamweaver and i enabled cache on there (because i do want it to cache) but when i update files on my site they dont show/change until i empty my browsers cache :S I can’t expect everyone whos allready visited my site to do that too in order for the updated version to show to them…..so im clearly missing a trick here. is there somewhere on go daddy where i can restart the cache or something like that??…so lost :[

I did a some looking around online and it looks like this thread I found may help you prevent visitors browsers from caching your pages:

Hope that helps!

Hey thanks for looking for me, but I DO want them to be able to cache my site (as its not very fast to load otherwise) but surely there is a straight forward way to make sure that the updated version of your site is what everyone sees. I think I read somewhere that I need to RE-publish my site but i cant find where the publish button was now lol

I apologize for my previous confusion. I’m personally unaware of any techniques to force a visitors browser to clear the cache only after you make changes to the website. Hopefully other Forum users will be able to provide you with some suggestions.

If you would like to re-publish the site, this article will help you get the changes uploaded:
