My website:

http://www.thecodingguys.net/

Is loading very slow, It is around 4 seconds here and I asked my mate to check and for him it was around 8-9 seconds. He was from USA. What’s wrong? It is only a small site with two JavaScript codes (search bar) and one style sheet. In total it downloads around 2 images when user visits it.

How can I increase speed, or is it Goaddy which sucks and hosting?

I only joined like 3 days ago…not pleased..

@AsimTGC,

I am sorry to hear your finding the response times of your site are appearing slow. Generally a 4 second load during high traffic periods on Shared hosting is an average speed for ideal performance.

I have reviewed the matter with our Hosting team who has ran connection tests from Host Tracking services. Currently, we are seeing an average server response of 2.54 seconds. However, we are continuing to monitor the server associated with your site to see if we can improve these results.

As for your own site pages, one of the connection tests ran shows load times for each of the individual scripts and elements of your site. Once connection the server is established, the files and images being loaded are successfully downloaded in under 1 second. I am not sure how much more can be done to improve this, but you can find several site optimization services through your preferred search engine which can scan and provide suggestions on how to further improve the performance of your pages.

<p>Well I use Webmatrix and Expression Web for SEO and other reports, I cleaned up some code and removed unnecessary images but it still is slow. So it’s your guys server problem. I think you guys are still using 1GH and not 4. It’s only a small site. It loads 3 – 4 seconds for me and 8 or higher if your in USA or out of Europe.

Why must we continue to have these issues. I was away from my site for about a month it doesn’t need daily tending to and I come back and its running like the hamster fell off its wheel. I can’t even do my wordpress update because the thing is running so slow. I deactivated almost every plug in and its still running very very slow.

If I should host my account else where just let me know because at this point I’m just tired.

I agree with you JH Live your website is worse than I tried to do a speed test but it failed it because it took 15 seconds and higher

I’m at a loss. At this point I feel like the only thing to do is leave GoDaddy and that makes me even more angry because I just paid my server bill! I am so disgusted.

So I am to understand that this did not warrant a response from anyone at GoDaddy?

@WH_JH_LIVE,

My apologies for the delay. I have just reviewed the matter with a member of our Hosting Team. Currently the server your site is associated with is experiencing high traffic loads at this time. This issue has been brought to the concern of our hosting administrators who are currently addressing the matter as quickly as possible.

If I can make one suggestion, while reviewing the server we recognize that this site is associated with one of our Legacy hosting plans. To help improve performance of your site for better load balancing, our hosting team recommends considering an upgrade to our 4GH Linux plans which are better suited to help prevent performance issues such as this when high traffic is coming to the server.

If you are not requiring any Legacy specific features, you can refer to the following article for detailed steps on how to upgrade your current plan to a 4GH account:

Chris I am on the 4GH hosting plan Windows, can you explain why my hosting is slow?

Currently it’s about 4 seconds but at times it can go to 8 and if your out of Europe then even higher.

@AsimTGC,

I have also taken a moment to review your site once more with our Hosting team. At this time, the specific server your plan is associated with is experiencing higher than normal traffic and utilization. This has also been brought to the attention of our hosting administrators who are working to address the matter.

I recall you previously mentioned that your site only used simple HTML/CSS and JavaScript pages. While looking over your server, we recognize the site to be associated with one of our Windows 4GH plans. If you are not requiring any Windows specific functions, our hosting team recommends considering a migration to a Linux environment which has been known to provide better performance an additional tools to further troubleshoot issues such as this.

If you would like to proceed with a migration, you can follow the instructions outlined in the following article below:
