Hi,
In order to have a wild card sub-domain system.
1) Is there a certain type of hosting requirement ?
2) Will I be able to set up a wild card domain system on a different hosting provider even while my registrar is godaddy ??
3) Wat is a typical server requirement for setting up wild card domain system and what is its price structure and any additional costs if any ?

You can use any of our hosting plans to set up a Wildcard subdomain but you will need a dedicated IP address for the hosting account. You can get a dedicated IP address for our shared hosting through the following URL:
http://www.godaddy.com/ssl/static-ip.aspx
You can use another hosting provider and set up wildcard DNS, you can set it up directly through the other hosting provider by changing your nameservers or you can set up a wildcard A record by using “*” as the host name.

I have a static IP included with my Ultimate Hosting plan on GoDaddy – but when I go to add the “*” subdomain, it states that the character is not accepted. How can I set up the wildcard subdomain?

@Artnik,
If you are attempting to setup a wildcard DNS record for your domain that resolves to your Dedicated IP address, this needs to be setup within your domain DNS manager, and not within your Hosting Control Center. To modify your Zone Files, you will want to refer to the instructions provided in the following URL:

My Main domain (www.domain.com) is pointed to /folder1 thru Domain Management on my hosting account
how can I point all sub-domains of my main domain (eg: abc.domain.com or xyz.domain.com etc) to /folder1/subfolder1
I tried like *.domain.com on Domain Management screen, but it shows me error. How can I achieve this?

@kranti,
You will want to refer to the instructions provided in the following URL to properly assign subdomains to your hosting account and direct these to the subfolders within your account as needed:
