Ive posted in another topic but didn’t get a reply. This problem is driving us crazy!

Every time we go to our site or to a post, it lags and says ‘Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded’

Weve disabled add-ons.. Downloaded that GoDaddy add-on to monitor the add-ons… Nothing helps. Everywhere I have read keeps saying this is a notorious issue with GoDaddy. Should we change hosts?

Generally, this error means that there are scripts that are running longer than 30 seconds on your site. You can do a couple things to correct this. You could increase the maximum execution time limit within your php5.ini file.

However, to really resolve this issue, you may want to consider switching to a Linux hosting account as Wordpress tends to operate better in a Linux environment.

If you aren’t utilizing any Windows specific web technologies, check out the link below for info on switching your hosting account’s operating system.

Hope this helps!

I am also suffering from the same problem since the day i installed Wordpress for my blog. Everything works perfect except this wordpress which is so annoying. I reported this many times to godaddy support but the same reply to edit php.in file , which isnt even visible through ftp. I have a windows hosting plan valid for a year which will expire in november. Can you change my plan to linux without having to pay for the linux hosting as i have lots of months left of the Windows Hosting plan.

You can change the operating system of your hosting account at any time. There is no charge to change the operating system of your hosting account. This article will show you how:
