Deleting a templete-generated content block

I seem to be unable to delete (delete, not clear) blocks that were part of the template I’m using.
I have several blocks that say “Click here to add a content block” or “Click here to add text, images, and more.”
I can’t make them go away and don’t intend to use them in the future!

There are certain blocks in the template that aren’t able to be removed. Those blocks may be the default blocks included in the template. As long as you do not use them, they would not appear on your published site.

@johnhalford – To add to what mike42 pointed out… If a content block that is part of the template leaves an undesired space on the site, the template can be modified with CSS:

If you need help with CSS you can post the name of the template you are using and a description of which block you are removing. And if possible you can post the web address.
