I don’t know anything about “Dreamweaver” or any other profession web programming tool. I do know that it is entirely too hard to modify the templates with your own pictures. It should be possible to replace and resize the banner picutre in any template.

@BEALA

You should be able to change any image in the template without issue. We do recommend making any modifications to the image prior to uploading it. This can be done through various image editing applications. If there is anything we can assist you with, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Best of luck!

I can change pictures but I can’t resize the space available. I don’t want my images stretched out or chopped off. We need the ability to resize the frame in the template.

@BEALA

While the frame for the image is specific to the template, you can change it through the CSS for WebSite Tonight. For more information on utilizing the CSS, check out this article:

Hope this helps!

I’ll look at that but I think coding the style sheet is going to be beyond my beginner skills.

BTW, I’d also like to substitute a different image in the Flash intros. Somethink like Business 2 could be quite effective…if we could only use our own picture.

This website provides a lot of great information on CSS:

http://www.w3schools.com/css/

Unfortunately, with the flash introductions, you’re unable to change the images for the templates we provide. However, you can create your own flash introduction and upload that. This article will give you more information on working with the flash introduction:

I printed the CSS listing for my template but there was nothing there that even remotely related to the sizing/placement of the site images used or even hinted that they existed.

It seems to me that it should be possible to resize the frame on the same tab that is used to change the background images.

Example: I’m using the Business5 template, which has a slot sized 900 x 330 in the header. My image is 380 x 200 and that’s what I want on every page. I don’t want my image stretched out but, as far as I can tell, there is no easy way to accomplish that. It would be better if the sizing options there included scaling to the available height or width.

Actually, I guess I’d be satisfied if I could find a plain template with vertical navigation but there

@BEALA

Can you provide us a URL to your site so we can take a look at the template that you’re using?

Thanks!

I’m rather frustrated on the inability to remove a text block. Even after following directions both in the user guide and on another Q & A section. I go through all the instructed motions to remove the block and – Surprise! It’s still there! Even though the program says it’s gone. It interferes with the site layout and is making me a wee bit crazy…

@muse0551

You wouldn’t be able to remove any blocks that are a part of the layout. You can change the layout to have different content blocks. However, you should have no problem deleting blocks that you’ve added. Once you delete a block, be sure to republish your site so that you see the changes live. Hope this helps!

Keep us posted on this.

Bailee,

There is no URL because I’m trying to revise the site using a different template … Business5. The group wanted to change from horizontal to vertical navigation and it’s been a real pain to be able to use the template because of the “Site Image 1″ sizing.

@BEALA

Thanks for providing the template that you’re using. When I took a look at that template, I recommend selecting a page layout that doesn’t force a larger header. Then, you can put an image in the top left content block and use CSS to eliminate the background image of the header. Also, you can use the CSS to increase the max-width and max-height of the content block on the top left.

Hope this helps!

And here I was thinking I was the only one who was thinking these thoughts. But, that being said, @metro-Thanks for the insight. I believe that explains the problem. This builder is only useful for the totally prebuilt sites that do not have to be edited except for the text. I would love to see the GoDaddy team come up with a “Dreamweaver” type of editor. I would probably go the way of the metro if I had not already spent so much time editing my site. I have used many “Dreamweaver type” programs and they are wonderful….GoDaddy, my best suggestion would be to do some research on Dreamweaver and duplicate it as close as you can. I want to be able to hit the HTML button and bring up HTML for the WHOLE page, not just a certain specific section.

I developed my logo in Photoshop and had no problem uploading it. You may already have done this but check a couple of the following; create your logo at a reasonable size (about 6″ across) at 300 dpi. This size seems to upload easily and the uploader will re-size it as it sees fit. Once you upload the file, you can continue to manipulate on the screen – sizing it and moving it around.

One thing that made a HUGE difference when I first started working with GoDaddy was changing over to the Mozilla Firefox browser. For some reason, working through Internet Explorer does not make GoDaddy software very happy.

And I can’t say enough about tech support available by phone – I called these poor people like once a day every day for the first 5 days I was working on re-building my site. They are super patient and solved my problem every time.

Good luck!
